Ready is a decision, not a feeling
If I’m being honest, I’ve been romanticizing a move to Europe for years, and really pursuing it for a full year when the opportunity presented itself (or the window sort of cracked?) in earnest about 6 months months ago.
And after a long, arduous, and fully vetted process of candidacy by my employer, they thought I would be a good candidate for a job in the UK (yay!).
Wait, what?
Although I’ve dreamed of this, thought about it and fantasized about how it would be forever, I now had less than 60 days to actually prepare to move my life that had been in the same place for over 20 years to shift entire continents. Even more, condense this life of 44 years into a couple suitcases, along with 2 dogs + convince my partner John to move from a comfortable 3 bedroom house into a tiny 1 bedroom flat in central London.
This is not the season of our life for comfort. This is the season of life for living and adventure.
If we wait to feel ready for the perfect time, ready will never come. We only have today and now and opportunity. Ready is a decision - not a feeling.
